So how does the new C 300 4MATIC® Sedan compare against other luxury compact performance vehicles? Let’s take a look at it next to Audi A4 to find out.
Compare the things you care about most.
When it comes to comparing luxury sport sedans, the compact segment has grown in size noticeably in recent years. The Mercedes-Benz C 300 Sedan is a perfect example of this. Having gained significantly in both overall length and width, the C 300 now has a more spacious and luxurious cabin space than ever before. The Audi A4 on the other hand retains the same body style and dimensions as it has for the past several years. That isn’t the only difference of course – the C 300 is more powerful, has better handling, includes more standard features.
For 2018, the Mercedes-Benz C 300 4MATIC® comes standard with full-time all-wheel drive, while the Audi A4 only offers their all-wheel drive Quattro as an option. The standard transmission on the C 300 is a 9-speed automatic with paddle shifters, while the A4 uses a CVT and doesn’t even offer paddle shifters. Power output from the C 300’s turbocharged 4-cylinder is 241-horsepower, compared with the A4’s 190-horsepower engine. Finally, the C 300’s Agility Control performance-based suspension automatically adjusts to the road surface and driving conditions. The Audi A4 doesn’t offer a comparable suspension.
The updated cabin in the C 300 is both stylish and plush. The dash wraps around into the door panels, creating a sense of continuity and flow. Available interior trims include rich, warm wood accents, sleek and glossy lacquer and aluminum, or customized leather trim. By comparison, the Audi A4’s interior can seem stark and minimalist. Convenience features include a 14-way power adjustable driver’s seat on the C 300, while the A4 is limited to 8-way adjustments. The split-folding rear seats in the C 300 fold flat, and offer significantly more room than the A4.
For audio and entertainment, the C 300 offers features like dual high-resolution screens, exclusive touchpad interface at the driver’s fingers, an in-car Wi-Fi Hotspot, available COMAND® hard-drive navigation, Mercedes-Benzmbrace®, and more. Many of the features offered on the C 300 are not available on the Audi A4.
Both the Mercedes-Benz C 300 and the Audi A4 are exceptionally safe cars. Each receives top marks from the various safety agencies and independent tests. That said, Mercedes-Benz has exclusive safety features and available options that Audi doesn’t offer on their vehicles. One such safety feature is the standard Collision Prevention Assist Plus offered on the C 300. This radar-based system uses Adaptive Brake Assist to automatically provide the correct level of braking for the situation. Other safety features include Active Blind Spot Assist, PRESAFE® Braking with Pedestrian Recognition, and BAS® Plus with Cross-Traffic Assist.
When it comes to choosing a small luxury sport sedan, there are a lot of great choices – but the Mercedes-Benz C 300 4MATIC® offers the most standard features and world-class performance in a true luxury package. Come in and see why this new C 300 is the best compact sport sedan Mercedes-Benz has ever made. We’ll be sure to save one just for you.
